Speaker Announcement: Maha Malik Joins MoodleMoot Malaysia 2025

MoodleMoot Malaysia 2025 is proud to welcome Maha Malik, Partnerships Coordinator at Kialo, as part of our exciting lineup of speakers.

Kialo is a 100% free, research-backed argument-mapping platform designed to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and structured discussions in education. In her role, Maha works closely with educators and institutions across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, supporting efforts to make classroom dialogue more inclusive, engaging, and impactful. Her expertise lies in bridging technology and pedagogy to build meaningful learning experiences that strengthen 21st-century learning skills.

At MoodleMoot Malaysia 2025, Maha will present:
“Beyond the Forum: Reimagining Online Discussions with Digital Argument Mapping.”

In this session, Maha will highlight how traditional online forums often struggle with shallow interactions, unstructured conversations, and low social presence and how digital argument mapping can address these challenges. With tools like Kialo’s Moodle-certified plugin, educators can bring clarity and structure to classroom discussions while giving students a platform to construct, analyze, and evaluate arguments more effectively.

Key takeaways from this session include:

  • Practical strategies for integrating argument maps into teaching.
  • Using argument mapping for whole-class and small-group discussions, essay preparation, and seminar activities.
  • Techniques to scaffold participation, select impactful discussion prompts, and enhance visibility into students’ critical thinking processes.

This is a hands-on opportunity for participants to see how argument mapping can transform online discussions into equitable, engaging, and reflective learning experiences, directly within Moodle.

Join us on 2–3 October 2025 at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, and discover how Maha Malik and Kialo are reimagining the future of digital discussions in education.
