Presentation Title
From LMS to Living Lab: Using Moodle to Support Authentic, Project-Based Learning
Presentation Description
In her session, “From LMS to Living Lab: Using Moodle to Support Authentic, Project-Based Learning,” Limalini shares how Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS transformed Moodle into a powerful tool for driving active, hands on learning. As part of Malaysia’s first integrated engineering programme, classrooms were reimagined as Living Labs spaces where students collaborate, prototype, and tackle real-world engineering challenges. Moodle played a central role in preparing learners for these immersive sessions, extending learning beyond the physical classroom.
The presentation highlights how scaffolding elements such as AI-assisted self paced learning, reflection prompts, interactive H5P activities, and structured discussions were intentionally designed to sustain authentic engagement. Limalini will showcase strategies that helped students navigate the transition between online and hands-on environments, accommodate diverse learning needs, and maintain momentum throughout the course cycle. Participants will walk away with practical insights on transforming Moodle from a traditional LMS into a living, breathing learning hub that inspires creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving.
