Presentation Title
Transforming Moodle from Repository to Co-Creative Hub: A Pedagogical Framework for Generative AI in Open and Distance Learning
Presentation Description
As Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly present in education, distance learning institutions face two major challenges: maintaining academic integrity and preventing Moodle from being reduced to a static content repository. This presentation introduces a proactive pedagogical framework that reimagines Moodle as a dynamic “co-creative hub.” Drawing on real-world practices from Open University Malaysia (OUM), the session showcases how students, educators, and AI can work together to enrich learning. It will highlight practical techniques for using Moodle Forums to encourage dialogue, Assignments to assess AI literacy and learning processes, Quizzes to build critical evaluation skills, and the Glossary to create collaborative knowledge bases. Participants will gain a tested framework and actionable strategies to boost student engagement, critical thinking, and AI literacy in their own Moodle courses.
